Christine Manthey is a New York trained designer who takes inspiration from her frequent travels throughout the world and her art school education.
Upon graduating from the Art Institute of Chicago, she moved to New York where she has worked for top US and European designers, such as Charles Chang Lima, TSE under the design direction of Hussein Chalayan, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Tibi, and KaufmanFranco.
Christine has a vast experience in traditional pattern making with master tailors and seamstresses. Her experiences working for contemporary and high end design houses have given her an education in the beauty of constructing and finishing a garment, the way a material wants to drape on the body, and an eye for a flattering silhouette.
First shown in Paris for the Spring 2010 season, Manthey is strategically feminine and amazingly versatile – going from daytime to cocktail with ease. Each season the collection is inspired by prints, which form the basis for the color palate. There is an inherent softness in the fit and materials. The pieces are understatements of sexiness, they contain a subtle allure, the essence of being a woman.
